The West Virginia Jazz Orchestra is housed at GVT and performs several times during the year, both at the theatre and in neighboring communities. The ensemble is comprised of eighteen musicians retired music professors, working professional musicians, and excellent amateur musicians. Sponsored by Local 674 of the American Federation of Musicians and housed at GVT, WVJOs mission is to foster interest in big band music.
The Washington Street Strutters
The Washington Strutters formed in early 2007 and play "warmed up" dixie land and other familiar favorites. Making up the group are Joe Buttram (clarinet), Cathey Sawyer (vocals), Tony Haworth (piano), and Brian Carr (trombone). Occassionally, Jeff Bryant (trumpet) and Tim Pyne (drums) sit in.

GVTs Annual Literary Tea Series Scheduled for October
Sit back, relax, enjoy hot, fresh tea, and listen to an hour of great works of literature, read by local writers and theatre artists, Thursday evenings in October at Greenbrier Valley Theatre. The Teas begin at 5:30 pm and offer a soothing experience for the mind; a relaxing hour of reading, complete with tea and coffee and tasty treats.
GVTs Annual Literary Tea Series is in partnership with the West Virginia Writers and, in addition to guest-artist readers, it features some of the winners of the West Virginia Writers competition.
GVT invites the Community to join them for their Annual Autumn series of Literary Teas. Admission is free and no reservations are required.
