GVT's Al Jeter Music Series
GVT's Al Jeter Music Series presents regional music groups ranging in styles from bluegrass to pop to jazz. The Series is presented in two venues - Daywood Lobby events and Hollowell Theatre events. With the excellent acoustics at GVT as well as our smoke-free environment, our live music series is a special treat!

GVT's Hollowell Theatre Series
Hollowell Theatre Series concerts are presented in the Hollowell Theatre and are eclectic in content. Performing ensembles featured in the past have included Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys (bluegrass), Bad Neighbors (classic rock), The Boatmen (acoustic rock), and the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra (standards of Big Band literature). Additional groups may be selected.

GVT's Daywood Lobby Series
Daywood Lobby Series concerts are presented in GVT's Daywood Lobby and are devoted to developing and maintaining interest and enjoyment in Jazz, America’s most indigenous and unique art form. The series features the Manhattan Jazz Quartet, as well as other local jazz groups.

The West Virginia Jazz Orchestra is housed at GVT and performs several times during the year, both at the theatre and in neighboring communities. The ensemble is comprised of eighteen musicians retired music professors, working professional musicians, and excellent amateur musicians. Sponsored by Local 674 of the American Federation of Musicians and housed at GVT, WVJOs mission is to foster interest in big band music.

The Washington Strutters formed in early 2007 and play "warmed up" dixie land and other familiar favorites. Making up the group are Joe Buttram (clarinet), Cathey Sawyer (vocals), Tony Haworth (piano), and Brian Carr (trombone). Occassionally, Jeff Bryant (trumpet) and Tim Pyne (drums) sit in.
